Build A Nest specialise in bespoke, high quality log and timber framed buildings.
We can take you through the whole process of building your dream project, offering 3D drawing design, right through to the erection by our skilled team of log builders.
Unlike many supply companies we have few standard plans, preferring to offer the opportunity to allow our clients to lead us to the perfect build, we work closely with you, the client to create your unique log building, from a ‘granny annexe’, a twin-unit transportable home through to a luxury large family home, traditional or contemporary design.
The timber used in the construction of our solid log buildings is sourced from sustainable and well managed, slow grown arctic forests. Your building will be highly efficient, economical to run, as well as ecologically sound with a low carbon footprint.
Our timber frame builds can offer a more traditional look or a contemporary styling depending upon the finish you wish to achieve.
Build A Nest are a small, friendly, family company with a great passion for log and timber buildings. Our passion is borne from the fact that we built and live in our own log home.

Design
Our design team will design your build to suit your needs. We will work with you combining our build and design knowledge and your personal requirements to produce the perfect log or timber framed building. We will produce full construction drawings and can provide you with drawings for submission to your local planning authority and 3d images. If required we will visit the site and carry out a site survey.
Supply
We will supply you with a log building made to last a lifetime and beyond. Our log buildings are constructed from machined logs sourced from sustainable forests within the arctic circle. The timber from these forests has a density and strength that will give you a hardwearing and long lasting building that will provide shelter for generations. Log buildings are extremely efficient, warm in winter and cool in summer. It takes little energy to heat a log building. A truly ecological and sustainable build option. Our timber framing option can offer a more traditional look or contemporary style. This option can prove to be more cost effective for smaller builds, garden studios and home offices. We again can produce a unique timber building for you designed and styled to your criteria.
Build
We can supply you with a supported self build package through to a turn key build. A supported self build will allow you to utilise your own skills to build your perfect log building. We will tailor this package to your knowledge, experience and skill sets and give the support we feel you will require. We would always be on site to take delivery of your building and from there we would support you as required with an initial stay on site and ongoing email and telephone contact throughout the project. Alternatively you may wish use our skilled build team to construct your building. Again we are flexible and can tailor a build package to suit your needs, we can complete the build to any point you would like. A first fix completion would provide you with a fully weather-tight building, floor, walls and roof finishings. You would then be able to complete the internal works yourself. We can carry out a full electrical installation using our experienced CIS registered installers. A turn-key project would provide you with a building ready to move into.
Mobile Homes
All of our transportable log buildings are designed to exceed BS3632. This is the specification for residential park homes and lodges which allows us to provide safe homes that can be lived in all year round. Our log transportable mobile homes are built using the same standards as a log house would be. We design our log buildings with generous overhangs. This protects the building from the weather thus enhancing the life span and also helps to keep the building cool during the hot summer months.
